We are pleased to announce the release of the Transparency Report and Takedown Guidance Policy from TeraBox. It shows our commitment to ensure users’ privacy and data security, and at the same time our social responsibility of fighting illegal and objectionable content in the cloud.
Transparency Report
The report highlights the actions we have taken against illegal and objectionable content.
In the first and second quarter of 2024, we have taken down 1,294,285 public links reported to contain illegal and objectionable content. It includes child sexual abuse material, violence, harassment, terrorism, bestiality, etc. Consequently, we have deleted 1,147 accounts involved in such activities.
We also respect intellectual property rights. Upon receiving the takedown requests, we have taken down 462,762 links involved in copyright infringement.
Takedown Guidance Policy
We have disclosed and updated our Takedown Guidance Policy. It gives a transparent view of our actions related to the requests for criminal and civil actions against our users. It clarifies the balance we create between the privacy of the user’s data/information, its disclosure against legal requests, and other actions taken against the user involved in illegal activities.
The privacy of users has always been the priority of TeraBox. We are dedicated to providing a safe and reliable cloud storage platform to all users. However, we cannot tolerate the misuse of cloud storage.
We are strictly against any illegal and objectionable content that could be harmful to individuals. We welcome reports against such content in the cloud. And we are committed to responding promptly and taking suitable actions.
The privacy of our users is crucial, but it is also subjected to legal considerations. We are committed to our social responsibility and legal compliance. Therefore, we may disclose the information or data or take suitable actions against a TeraBox user if the involvement in illegal activity is evident.
